The Magic Ratio (5:1) is the idea that healthy relationships have roughly five positive interactions for every negative one. Magic Ratio helps you log your daily moments — compliments, acts of kindness, disagreements, frustrations — and tracks whether your relationship is above or below that threshold over time. It's a habit-tracking tool for your most important relationship, not therapy.

If you log 5 positive moments for every 1 negative moment, your ratio is 5.0. Research on long-term relationship health suggests that couples who maintain a ratio at or above 5:1 tend to report higher satisfaction and lower rates of separation. The app tracks your rolling ratio over the past 7 days so you can see trends, not just snapshots.

No — you can use it solo. You can log moments from your perspective (what you did) or your partner's perspective (what they did). If your partner also installs the app and accepts your invite, you both contribute to the same relationship feed and your combined ratio is tracked together. Having both partners log independently gives you the richest picture.

Go to the Account tab → Your Relationship → Invite Partner. You'll get a shareable link. Your partner taps it, signs in, and the two of you are connected. You can only be in one relationship at a time.

Yes. Your moments are stored securely in our database and are only accessible to you and (if they've joined) your partner. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. See our full Privacy Policy for details.

Free accounts display the last 30 days of logged moments. Your full history is safely stored — nothing is deleted. Upgrading to Magic Ratio Premium unlocks your complete interaction history so you can see long-term trends, seasonal patterns, and your relationship's full arc.

Premium ($19.99/year) unlocks:

There's no monthly option at launch — annual only.

Open the Settings app on your iPhone → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Magic Ratio → Cancel Subscription. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not process refunds directly — contact Apple for refund requests.

Yes. Go to Account → Privacy Settings → Delete Account & All Data. Type DELETE to confirm. Your account, moments, and relationship data are permanently removed within 30 days. This action cannot be undone. You can also email support@magicratio.app to request deletion.

Go to Account → Privacy Settings → Export My Data. You'll receive a CSV file with all your logged moments, which you can save to Files, email to yourself, or open in any spreadsheet app. This is always available regardless of your subscription status.

No. If your Premium subscription expires, your account reverts to the free tier. You retain the last 30 days of history in the app, and your older data remains stored safely. If you resubscribe, your full history is immediately restored.
